Pregnancy + Movement

As always we are here to support you. This includes your next life stage! We will always encourage you to move in a way that feels good for you. So if you are feeling good, here is some information to help guide you through exercise in pregnancy.

Currently Pregnant?

Congratulations! We can’t wait to support you through this journey.
If your pregnancy is free of complications, you feel good to move and approved by your doctors, join us in any of our classes.
We follow up to date guidelines to keep you and your little one safe. We have special props to help support you through your movement.

Our instructors are also there to offer easy prenatal specific options when you need them in class.

What classes should I come to?

All of our classes are open level, however if this is your first class with us we highly recommend MOVE (reformer room) and CIRCUIT (sweat room) as starting points.

When should I stop?

This is very dependent on the individual. We suggest you follow the

Physical Activity Guidelines for Pregnancy

The warning signs to stop exercise and seek medical attention include:

  • Chest pain

  • Unexplained shortness of breath

  • Dizziness, feeling faint or headache

  • Muscle weakness

  • Calf pain, swelling or redness

  • Sudden swelling of the ankles, hands or face

  • Vaginal bleeding or amniotic fluid loss

  • Decreased fetal movement

  • Uterine contractions or pain in the lower back, pelvic area or abdomen (potentially indicating pre-term labour).

WHAT THINGS CAN AND CAN’T I DO WHILE PREGNANT?

Depending on your stage of pregnancy will depend on what exercises you can and can’t do.
We will explain to you during your first class with us and guide to appropriately. As always if something doesn't feel good, stop and we can provide an option for you.
